Maintenance for marble

Marble
Marble is a durable natural product with a timeless appearance. Because it is porous and calcareous, it requires a little attention. A few simple habits help prevent stains, rings and dull patches.

  • Act quickly after spills
Immediately absorb spilled liquids, including water, with a soft cloth. Then rub the area dry with a dry cloth or chamois leather.

  • Use a soft cloth and lukewarm water
For daily care, a soft cloth and lukewarm water are sufficient. Always dry the surface immediately afterwards to avoid rings.
  • Choose pH-neutral products
Use only mild, pH-neutral cleaning products that are suitable for natural stone or marble.

  • Avoid acids and aggressive products
Do not use vinegar, lemon, limescale removers, abrasives, bleach or other aggressive cleaners. They can dull the marble or damage the surface.

  • Prevent greasy films
Do not use concentrated solutions of green or brown soap. They can leave a film that attracts dirt and dust more easily.

  • Protect the surface
Use coasters, placemats or felt pads under glasses, hot objects, decorations and accessories.

  • Lift objects
Do not slide vases, dishes or other objects across the marble. This helps prevent scratches.

Regular and careful maintenance helps preserve marble’s natural sheen and appearance for longer.
